Mettawee Theatre Company is a nonprofit community theatre organization based in Salem, New York. Founded with a mission to bring accessible performing arts to our rural community, we produce original plays, host workshops, and provide a creative space for local artists of all ages.
To enrich the cultural life of our community through affordable, high-quality theatrical productions and educational programs that inspire creativity, foster collaboration, and celebrate the human experience.
We are preparing our 2026-2027 season, featuring a mix of classic dramas and original works by local playwrights. Rehearsals are held at our space on Dunnigan Road in Salem.
We welcome volunteers, actors, directors, and supporters of all backgrounds. Whether you want to perform on stage, help behind the scenes, or support our mission financially, there is a place for you at Mettawee Theatre.
